Gather is a people-counting app. We designed it to work with minimal data collection. This policy explains what information is involved when you use Gather and how it is handled.
Gather stores your counting sessions, session names, and count history locally on your device using on-device storage. This data never leaves your device unless you choose to export or share it. We do not have access to your locally stored session data.
When you use the AI photo estimation feature, the photo you capture is sent to Anthropic's Claude Vision API for processing. The photo is used solely to estimate the number of people visible and is not stored by us. Anthropic processes the image according to their own privacy policy, available at anthropic.com/privacy. Photos are transmitted securely via HTTPS and are not retained by Gather after the estimation is complete.
Gather Pro subscriptions are managed through Apple's App Store and Google Play. Payment processing is handled entirely by Apple or Google — we never receive, store, or have access to your credit card number, bank account, or other payment details. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user identifier to track whether your subscription is active. RevenueCat's privacy policy is available at revenuecat.com/privacy.
Gather does not require an account or login. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or location. We do not use analytics or tracking SDKs. We do not display advertising.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties. The only external data transmission occurs during AI photo estimation (as described above) and subscription verification through RevenueCat.
Pro users can export their session history as a CSV file. This export is generated locally on your device and shared using your device's built-in sharing capabilities. We do not receive a copy of your exported data.
Gather is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of Gather after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
